Baptism

Baptisms

People of any age can be baptised providing they were not baptised as a child. Adults who were baptised as children and have returned to the Christian faith later in life may like to renew their baptismal vows, or you might like to consider confirmation.

For young children, a service of baptism celebrates the beginning of their journey with God. It is an opportunity for parents to commit before God and the church congregation, that they will bring up their children within the Christian faith.  For parents who do not feel they want to make the commitments involved in a baptism, a service of thanksgiving may be more appropriate. Whether baptism or thanksgiving, it will be included within a normal Sunday morning service so that the whole congregation can join the celebration.
